    Our Verdict

TorFX is the right choice if you're moving large amounts and want a provider that will actually talk to you. The account manager service, unlimited transfer ceiling, and competitive rates at scale make it a strong pick for property buyers, expats, and businesses. For transfers under a few thousand pounds, or if you need cash pickup, mobile wallet delivery, or a wider currency range, Wise or WorldRemit will serve you better.

    Fees and Exchange Rates

TorFX charges no transfer fee. Pricing is built into the exchange rate, so total cost is quote-based rather than presented as a separate fee plus rate.

Rates on major corridors are generally competitive for larger transfers. As with most brokers, smaller transfers can be less favourable, so checking a live quote first is important.

TorFX won't show you rates on the public site. You need to either create an account or submit your name, email, and transfer details for a quote. This is a real friction point if you're comparing providers.

    Transfer Speed

TorFX promises same-day transfers, with a maximum of 2 business days. In our test, GBP to EUR arrived in just over 17 hours, which is in line with that claim. Standard for a bank-to-bank transfer. If you need money to arrive in minutes, look at Wise or TransferGo instead.

    Transfer Limits

Online transfers are capped at £50,000. Regular overseas payments run from £500 to £10,000. For anything above the online cap, you'll need to work with an account manager, who can facilitate unlimited transfer amounts. This makes TorFX well suited to property purchases, business payments, and other large one-off transfers that would exceed the limits of services like Wise.

    Product Offering

TorFX supports bank-to-bank transfers only. There is no cash pickup and no mobile wallet delivery. Recipients must have a bank account. The sending side accepts debit cards and bank transfers, but not Amex, prepaid, or corporate cards.

TorFX supports 40+ currencies, which is limited compared to most consumer-facing competitors. If your corridor isn't covered, XE or WorldRemit are better options.

For the transfer types offered, TorFX goes beyond what most providers offer: spot contracts (send now at today's rate), forward contracts (lock in a rate for up to 2 years), and regular payment plans. These are genuinely useful for anyone with ongoing currency exposure.

    Ease of Use

Signup is straightforward on both desktop and mobile: name, email, date of birth, address, phone number, and a password. No ID verification upfront. Once registered, you're assigned an account manager.

The transfer flow is standard: enter amount, add recipient bank details, select payment method, confirm. I found it functional rather than slick. It's not as polished as Wise, but it gets the job done. One issue I had, my first transfer was briefly flagged for review before being released without any input from me, which was slightly unsettling even though it was resolved quickly.

    Customer Support

Support quality is genuinely strong. When I called, I was answered in under 2 minutes and got helpful, friendly responses. Email was replied to in under an hour. The account manager model is a differentiator: customers regularly name their managers in Trustpilot reviews, which says a lot. The main gap is live chat, which most modern transfer apps now offer.

    Safety and Trust

TorFX is fully legitimate. It's authorised by the FCA in the UK (no. 900706) and operates in Europe under the Bank of Spain (registration 6716). Client funds are held in segregated accounts, meaning your money is protected if TorFX were to become insolvent.

    Customer Feedback

Trustpilot: 4.9/5 from 6,000+ reviews (91% five-star). The most common praise is for account managers and personalised service. Negative reviews are rare and typically resolved within 24 hours. The iOS app rating (1.8/5) is a concern, though the small sample size and age of reviews make it hard to draw firm conclusions. Android fares better at 4/5 from 200+ reviews.
